Foxcom’s new, fully-integrated VSAT-Light series of fiber optic links provides, for the very first time, a low-cost alternative to coax cable in a VSAT terminal. Designed to meet the needs of VSAT service providers and integrators, VSAT-Light harnesses the superior performance of fiber optic transceivers, surmounts the systems limitations associated with coax and is unbeatable for its compact size and flexibility.
The VSAT-Light links consists of two optical transceivers, one at the antenna and the other at the indoor modem, converts L-Band and 10 MHz RF signals into optics and converts them back to RF over a single-mode optical fiber cable. The RF signal is directly modulated adding virtually no phase noise to the original signal and can be transmitted over a distance of up to one kilometer. At the antenna site, the fiber optic transceiver is mounted in a lightweight, weatherized IP-64 rated outdoor enclosure, capable of powering both the LNB and BUC.
With easy-to-install, fiber optic cable, Foxcom’s VSAT-Light series opens brand new possibilities - place the antenna where you want and not where circumstances dictate. In short, our state-of-the-art VSAT-Light series is the perfect solution for your corporate networks, rural telecoms, distance learning, disaster recovery or ship-board communications; providing unparalleled reliability and cost saving benefits.
